Wood stoves operate entirely off of wood.  Wood is placed in the burner, and you control a valve to decide how much air is allowed to go into the burner.  The amount of air you allow in is dependent upon how long the wood has been in the fire.   The longer the wood has been in, the less air needed.  You can actually extend the life of your wood by using less air.

Wood stoves have multiple uses too.  They have the ability to solely heat an entire house. Imagine how much money you would save on heating bills if you used a wood oven!  If you wish to do this, the best place for your wood stove is on a lower floor, such as a basement, because heat rises.  It is also recommended that you have vents leading to upper floors, otherwise it will not be nearly as effective. If you were to put it on the first or second floor, the heat would only go on one or two floors, opposed to every floor if you were to put it in your basement. 

The previous owners of these wood burning stoves took excellent care of them and thus are in very good condition.
